Functions of the Register of Deeds
The Register of Deeds office is responsible for maintaining and
securing the land records of York County. It is the duty of the Register
of Deeds to record documents submitted for filing, in the order in which
they are presented. Filings included are deeds, mortgages, assignments,
releases, construction liens, tax liens (federal and state), UCC filings,
plats, military discharges, and other instruments and writings presented for recording.
