All anonymous, written, emailed or formal in person citizen complaints will be assigned and investigated in a exigent manner. The York County Sheriff will assign each complaint for investigation or review to specific personnel on a case-by-case basis. In all cases, the personnel assigned to a complaint investigation/review shall make all reports, findings and conclusions directly to the York County Sheriff, bypassing chain of command for the limited purpose of making reports and conclusions known to the Sheriff. Disposition and actions taken by the Sheriff will be recorded and documented. The complaining party will be contacted and given a written response on the finding and conclusion of the investigation and actions taken by the York County Sheriff.
