YORK – Last year was unique as two overpass structures, over Interstate 80, were hit by vehicles in accidents. What resulted was closure of both for long periods of time, as repair work had to be done.
While these are county roads going over the interstate, the responsibility of fixing the structures lies with the state. The good news is that both damaged structures are fixed and both county roads are open. York County Highway Superintendent Harvey Keim told the county commissioners this past week how Road W is now open to traffic over the interstate. “Both locations are fixed and open,” Keim said. He also noted how work on a bridge on Road 12 has been completed and this bridge was set to be opened late last week. Meanwhile, road crews continue doing crack sealing and road maintenance, with the intention to start one-year projects soon. Comments are closed.
