YORK COUNTY, NEBRASKA
  YORK – During this week’s reorganizational meeting of the York County Commissioners, the board members chose the chairman and vice-chairman for the board of commissioners and for the board of equalization.
 YORK – When the York County Commissioners convene in regular session on Tuesday, Jan. 21, they will reorganize for the new year. This means they will elect a chairman and vice-chairman of the board.
 YORK COUNTY – Arthur Fredrickson, 100, of York, was honored this past week by Governor Jim Pillen and York County Veterans Service Officer Nick Wollenburg for his service in World War II.
 YORK COUNTY – Wilfred Medinger of Henderson, who will soon be turning 99 years old, was honored this past week by Governor Jim Pillen and York County Veterans Service Officer Nick Wollenburg for his service in World War II.
 YORK COUNTY – Sgt. Taylor Samek has been named the employee of the year for the York County Sheriff’s Office.
 YORK – This past week, the York County Sheriff’s Office held its year-end award event and one of the awards was for exceptional duty. It was given to Deputy Brandon Huebner.
YORK – Sgt. Taylor Samek has been given the York County Sheriff’s Office’s life-saving award for the past year.
 YORK – Captain Josh Gillespie has been named as the employee of the quarter for the York County Sheriff’s Office.
 YORK – As the York County Commissioners took their quarterly tour of the York County Jail this past week, York County Sheriff Captain Josh Gillespie and York County Correctional Officer Nic Marsden said the inmate population number remains high.
 YORK – The York County Commissioners’ meeting room was full Thursday morning as two county commissioners took the oath of office.
