YORK – Candidate filings continue as the non-incumbent deadline nears – which is March 2.
York County is seeking a Youth Attendance Coordinator within the Attendance Monitoring Program (AMP). This position provides intervention-based case management services to youth and families experiencing chronic absenteeism. This position supports students and families across both York County and Polk County, working directly with public and private schools, the County Attorney, community partners, and families to address attendance concerns. This position works collaboratively with youth, families, schools, and community partners to identify barriers, implement structured intervention plans, and improve school attendance outcomes.

YORK – The York County Commissioners made two big purchases this past week, as they met in regular session – a motorgrader and a truck (with plow and flatbed) for the county’s road department.
YORK – It appears the York County Commissioners are getting closer to hiring an emergency manager.
WACO – York County District 2 Commissioner Deb Robertson will hold an open house next week, during which she wants to have dialogue with constituents.
Robertson was recently appointed to the position as District 2 commissioner and says she wants to connect with those living and working in her district. She says there is no set agenda, she simply wants to meet with constituents and hear their comments, concerns and more. It will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Waco Community Building, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. YORK – York County will stay with engineering company, Oak Creek Engineering, for bridge inspection work.
YORK – The York County Commissioners have said yes to a permissive property tax exemption for the property near the county shop property, which is owned by the York Public School Foundation, and will be used for York Public Schools’ new agri-science center.
