YORK COUNTY – The sheriff’s office is increasing rural patrol – starting immediately – in response to an escalating rate of thefts.
YORK – When the York County Commissioners meet in regular session on Tuesday, March 31, they will revisit a number of topics – including commercial appraisals, emergency management and possibly zoning.
KEARNEY – A number of York County officials attended the Central District meeting of the Nebraska Association of County Officials (NACO) this past week in Kearney.
NACO holds periodic meetings as continued education opportunities for elected officials in Nebraska’s 93 counties. Officials are able to receive information regarding county business in their respective fields, learn details about legislative issues which may directly affect counties, network with other county officials and receive general updates, as part of their NACO membership. YORK – The York County Sheriff’s Office is now utilizing state-of-the-art virtual reality taser training, thanks to a grant from the county’s property/casualty insurance carrier (NIRMA) and access to drug seizure funds.
YORK – This past week, Jared Reimers, district coordinator for Congressman Adrian Smith, met briefly with the York County Commissioners.
YORK – It’s not time for budget formulation and the county is mid-way through the fiscal year, so when Region 5 Systems asked for a sudden increase in funds to be paid to them in the next fiscal year, it was rejected by the York County Commissioners.
YORK – The York County Commissioners, sitting as the York County Board of Equalization, approved 17 tax list corrections this past week, pertaining to incorrect information which had been found on homestead exemption applications.
YORK – This past week, the York County Commissioners agreed to allow a conditional use permit for a second house in a quarter quarter.
YORK – This year, commercial and industrial appraisals will take place in certain parts of York and Van Guard Appraisals Inc. is scheduled to be the contracted appraiser.
