YORK COUNTY – It was a surprising morning, Tuesday, April 15, when the York County Commissioners’ earlier vote to put in place solar project zoning regulations, including half-mile setbacks, was suddenly reversed. What this means, in a nutshell, is that the county still has no solar zoning regulations and they are going back to the drawing table.
YORK COUNTY -- The York County Sheriff's Office will be participating in the “Drug Impaired Driving Enforcement” mobilization through the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office. This campaign will be taking place from April 18-20 and they will have extra deputies conducting high visibility traffic enforcement on the roadways throughout York County specifically looking for drug impaired drivers.

York County 9-1-1 invites applications for the position of a Communications Officer. This position plays a critical role in vital communications between the public and emergency services. This employee will be able to work independently in a high-stress environment while receiving and evaluating incoming emergency and administrative requests for emergency services, including but not limited to law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS). This employee will triage requests for services and provide guidance and assistance to the public in life-safety situations. York County has an opening for a Court Services Clerk in the District Court. Work involves entering court case information, indexing and filing all legal pleadings received by the Court; issue summons/subpoenas for signature; provide counter and telephone assistance to clients and attorneys; and compile and distribute required correspondence or requested documents to appropriate parties. YORK – Following the March 19 blizzard which hit York County and a lot of Nebraska with a punch, there have been conversations held with the county board regarding emergency declarations and more.
YORK – A visitors improvement grant has been denied for an outdoor lighting project at the auditorium, with several county board members saying they like the project but because it’s already finished, it doesn’t meet the funding requirements.
