YORK COUNTY – This week, Lori Byers, director of York County’s aging services and public transportation program, reported to the York County Commissioners there might be some future good news regarding state funding for the transit system.

​YORK – This past week, York County Assessor Kurt Bulgrin presented his under/over report to the York County Commissioners, who were sitting as the board of equalization – following conversations he and his staff had with 51 property owners, corrections made to their valuations resulted in a $3 million decrease.

YORK – This week, Blue Valley Community Action CEO Shari Weber and Jennifer Harre, who oversees the BVCA operations in York and Polk Counties, met with the York County Commissioners to make their year-end report and budget request.

YORK COUNTY – The York County Commissioners have hired a new weed superintendent.

YORK – As the last meeting of the 2024-25 fiscal year happened this week, the York County Commissioners closed out the finances with transfers if needed.

This past week, York County Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier sent a letter to all the members of the village boards, city councils and the school boards for York, McCool and Heartland — inviting them to attend valuation protest hearings before the county board of equalization.
