YORK COUNTY – A deputy with the York County Sheriff’s Office allegedly found cocaine and methamphetamine during a traffic stop in York County. 

YORK – The York County Commissioners will have a relatively light agenda when they meet in regular session this week. 

​YORK -- York County Public Transportation will be providing transportation two evenings for people to view holiday lights in York.
They will pick up passengers and bring them home.
The cost will be $5 per person.
They will be holding this event on Dec. 17 and 18, from 6-8 p.m.

YORK – Mason Herman with Marvin Planning met with the York County Planning and Zoning Commission this past week, to discuss how the process of updating the county’s comprehensive plan will begin.

​HENDERSON – This past week, the York County Commissioners were asked to consider a liquor license application filed by BPH S Prem S. Corp, which is the new owner of the Henderson Fuel Mart now known as Henderson BP.
A public hearing was held this past week. No one from the public appeared in favor of or against the application. No one representing the applicant was present either.
“We’ve dealt with this business before regarding changes in managers, for their liquor license, but this is the first for new owners,” said Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier. “They have had liquor out there for a few years now. We turn our recommendation over to the liquor commission.”
The state liquor commission makes the final licensing decision.
All the commissioners voted in submitted a favorable recommendation.
 

YORK COUNTY – This week, the York County Planning and Zoning Board met to discuss several topics, including the county’s proposed zoning regulations for solar fields. 

YORK – After some previous conversations, the York County Commissioners have given their official go-ahead for three stop signs to be installed at the intersection of Roads M and 11.

YORK – When the York County Courthouse and jail were built in the 1980s, fire suppression systems weren’t required in public buildings. So the lack of suppression in the jail has been allowable (grandfathered) – up until now.

YORK COUNTY – In partnership with the Nebraska Department of Transportation, the York County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the Make It Click campaign during the week of Nov. 23-Dec. 1, to remind everyone how wearing seat belts saves lives. 

YORK COUNTY – The York County Sheriff’s Department says they have been notified by the Nebraska Department of Transportation how a portion of Interstate 80 in York County will be closed Tuesday night into the morning hours of Wednesday.
