YORK – “When this courthouse was built, back in the 1980s, it was built without ideas of security, the kind of security we need today,” said Commissioner Jack Sikes as he provided his committee report this week, with the rest of the county board. “The safety and security committee continues to talk about this, as it continues to be an issue.”

​YORK – It is being proposed that York County enter into an interlocal agreement with Polk County which would allow York County’s juvenile diversion program to also serve clients in the neighboring county. 

YORK COUNTY – This week, the York County Commissioners agreed with recommendations made by York County Highway Superintendent Harvey Keim to accept a $600,000 bid for the reconstruction of three rural bridges. 

YORK COUNTY – This week, York County Sheriff’s Sergeants Korey Goplin and Taylor Samek, who are K-9 handlers, hosted Nebraska Police Service Dog Program Administrator Mike Kerby.
