YORK COUNTY – Blue Valley Behavioral Health continues to provide important services in York County, says Jon Day, director, who met with the York County Commissioners this past week. He explained how the organization, which has a location in York, has provided behavioral health services to 800 people in York County in the last year.
For a number of years, York County has provided $5,000 annually to BVBH. York County is one of 16 counties served by the entity. Day said they work with referrals from the court system, hospitals, schools and other agencies. York County Commissioner Randy Obermier referred to an earlier discussion held with York County Attorney Gary Olson, about the high rate of crime and drug abuse in this area. “Are you seeing the numbers go up?” Day said, “The need is always there. We continue to see mental health issues and substance abuse. Our numbers continue to grow, behavior health needs will always exist.” The commissioners will consider the financial request as the budget formulation process continues. Comments are closed.
