YORK – Bids will be opened on July 22 for the project to install a fire suppression system in the York County Jail. During this week’s committee reports from the York County Commissioners, Randy Obermier reported how a preconstruction meeting was held at the jail and “one contractor came. This contractor has worked within the penal system, in jails and such, before. So we will see how the bids come in for this project in two weeks.”
This project is being required by the state fire marshal’s office. Also during the county board’s committee meeting:
