Budget, levy discussions to be held by county commissioners

YORK – The York County Commissioners will again be discussing the budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year when they meet in regular session Tuesday, Aug. 20. 

​They will discuss and act on adopting a resolution to set preliminary levies for political subdivisions within the county.
They will also set wages of county employees which are under the umbrella of the county board.
Then, a budget workshop will be held.
Also on Tuesday’s agenda:

• They will meet with Randy Jones from Aging Partners regarding this year’s budget request.
• The board will consider a new commissary provider and account for the jail.
• The hiring of a new executive director of the York County Visitors Bureau will be brought forward.
• A secondary liquor license for Blended Distilling will be considered.
• A paving project will be presented.
• A pledge security with York State Bank in the amount of $1 million will be considered.
• Regier Carr and Monroe will bring forward a compliance exam engagement letter.
• As the board of equalizations, they will consider property valuation protests, following correction notices which have been sent to property owners who initially received incorrect valuation notices.
• Tax list corrections will be presented by York County Assessor Kurt Bulgrin.

The public is always encouraged to attend the commissioners’ meeting, which will start at 8:30 a.m., on Aug. 20, in the county commissioners’ meeting room, which is located on the main floor of the courthouse next to the clerk’s office.
