YORK – Officials from the City of York and York County have signed off on an interlocal agreement, outlining each entity’s financial role when 25th Street is repaved next year. The county will be using ARPA (federal COVID-relief) funds to re-pave 25th Street from the NRD/Fairgrounds corner all the way to Delaware Avenue. A portion of this stretch is the city’s responsibility so the county asked for a financial share.
Both entities have agreed to a $50,727 city share. The county will be spending $620,000 – which will include the 25th Street project, repaving Country Club Avenue and Road G in the area of Klute Steel east of Bradshaw. Last week, the York City Council said yes to the interlocal agreement. During that meeting, York Public Works Director James Paul explained how the city is responsible for about 600 feet. “I’d like to say a big thanks to Harvey Keim (county highway superintendent) for letting me know about their project,” Paul said. “We will see how this goes and maybe we can do some more projects together in the future.” This week, the county commissioners also signed off on the interlocal agreement.
