Commissioners agree to hire new weed superintendent

YORK COUNTY – The York County Commissioners have hired a new weed superintendent.

​York County Commissioner Andy Bowman explained, “after we parted ways with our prior weed superintendent, we advertised the position and got two candidates. Harvey (York County Highway Superintendent Harvey Keim interviewed both last week. One had a lot more experience in the field.”
Bowman said he and Keim offered the job to Ernie Price.
“This is who we want to hire,” Commissioner Bowman said, noting Price already was a county employee.
“Now, we need to update the job description,” Bowman said, as this position will also work with the road department, as well as do some field work for the zoning administrator.
“This board just needs to approve our hiring of him for this position,” Bowman said, which they did.
