Commissioners currently reviewing consultant’s recommendations on solar zoning regulations6/28/2024
YORK – The York County Commissioners are currently reviewing recommendations from their contracted zoning consultant, Marvin Planning, regarding proposed zoning regulations for solar projects. “We held our public hearing and we heard a lot of comments,” Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier said to his fellow board members this week. “And now, you have all received information from the Marvin group regarding their review of our proposed regulations and their recommendations. I thought maybe we should have a public meeting with this board and the planning/zoning committee, at the same time, to discuss this more. I think that would be good. My recommendation is a joint public meeting in the very near future.”
The other board members seemed to be in agreement and Obermier said he would work toward setting up a location, date and time for such a meeting, in order to discuss the proposed regulations further. There were no references made as to what the Marvin group was recommending or their observations upon review of the proposed regulations. Marvin Planning Consultants, a firm in David City, was hired by the county to assist in the upcoming update of the county’s comprehensive plan, as well as to review the proposed solar zoning regulations. The company specializes in city and county planning, zoning projects and related studies. Comments are closed.
