YORK – The York County Commissioners will continue working on the budget and talking about solar zoning regulations when they meet in regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The county board members are close to formulating the budget, as they continue to cut down spending to reduce the increase in tax asking.
They will be setting wages for certain positions: deputy county clerk, deputy county assessor, deputy county treasurer, deputy clerk of the district court, deputy county attorney, deputy county public defender, and employees in the departments of aging services, transit, emergency communications, extension office, maintenance, roads, veterans services and zoning. They will also consider the wages of department heads, highway superintendent, weed supervisor, 911 communications director, Area on Aging supervisor, maintenance supervisor, veterans services officer, visitors bureau director. Zoning is again on the agenda as they work through regulations for solar projects. Also during Tuesday’s meeting, they will be hearing an annual update from Jon Cannon from the Nebraska Association of County Officials. They will also hold a public hearing pertaining to an increase in fees for public transportation. And they will consider a budget request from the City of Henderson, for $12,000, for ambulance services. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room located on the main floor of the courthouse. Comments are closed.
