Commissioners to start hearing budget requests

​YORK – It’s that time of year again, as the budget process gets underway and the county commissioners hear budget requests from outside entities which receive funding from the county.
When the county board meets in regular session on Tuesday, May 26, they will hear the York County CASA annual report and budget request, to be presented by CASA Director Joe Miller.
Also during Tuesday’s meeting:

• York County Assessor Kurt Bulgrin will address the commissioners about a contract between the county and Sam GIS.
• Bulgrin will also talk to the commissioners, as they convene as the board of equalization, to talk about tax list corrections and claims filed with the state’s Tax Equalization Review Commission (TERC).
• The assessor will also discuss the process of valuation protests, as that time of year is also rolling around.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room which is located on the main floor of the courthouse next door to the clerk’s office.
