YORK – The York County Commissioners have approved a contract with Vanguard Appraisals Inc. for the second phase of appraisals of commercial properties in York County. This is being paid for with money in a sinking fund, where the money builds up with the sole intent being for it to be used for expert appraisal services to keep up with property values.
The matter was discussed by the county board two weeks ago but action was delayed so the assessor’s office could get more information about the payment details on the contract. This phase of reappraisals will be for commercial properties at the interchange and the industrial/commercial properties on the north side of York. “There will ultimately be three phases of commercial reappraisals,” said York County Commissioner Chairman Daniel Grotz. “And it’s $100,000-ish a phase.” “I understand there is some sticker shock with this, but this will allow us to get it done right the first time and then we are good to go from there. After that, our office can follow up with the appraisals ourselves on these types of properties,” Assessor Kurt Bulgrin told the board. Comments are closed.
