YORK – York County Attorney Gary Olson recently provided some statistics for the York County Commissioners regarding an escalation in criminal case filings.
He said he was bringing forward the information as it directly impacts costs to the county for court-appointed attorneys and inmate housing. Olson explained how in 2025, there were 968 criminal court filings in York County Court, which was a 32% increase over the prior year. In 2025, there were 122 juvenile filings, which was a 71% increase over the previous year. And in York County District Court, there were 173 filings, which was a 21% increase over 2024. “January certainly carried that same momentum as has February so far,” he added. Comments are closed.
