County board to hold first budget workshop

YORK – When the York County Commissioners meet in regular session on Tuesday, Aug. 5, they will be holding their first budget workshop for the new fiscal year.

​They will be discussing the preliminary figures presented to them by department heads and elected officials, as well as the bottom line and cuts they feel might need to be made.
Also on Tuesday’s agenda:

• The board will consider the reappointment of Fran Reinert to the Aging Partners Areawide Council.
• A resolution will be considered regarding the county’s annual inventory listing.
• They will discuss and act on the county’s annual certification of program compliance for the road department.
• The board will hear a recommendation from the architect designing the fire suppression system project in the jail, regarding a bid which was submitted two weeks ago.
• They will consider a contract with Regier Carr and Monroe for the performance of this year’s audit. This is the company which has been doing for some time.
• The board will consider an interlocal agreement with NRIN.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room located on the main floor of the courthouse.
