County board to take action on revisions to employee handbook

YORK -- When the York County Board of Commissioners meet in regular session on Feb. 18, they will be revisiting proposed changes to the employee handbook.

For the past few months, a committee comprised of department heads, county board members and employees have been taking a deep dive into the employee handbook, along with Zelle, the county's human resources contractor.

Two weeks ago, they discussed all the proposed changes and came up with further revisions based on the county board members' opinions.

This week, they are expected to take formal action.

Also during this week's county commissioner meeting:

• They will discuss the county's hazard mitigation plan, as requested by FEMA.
• They will also meet with Jennifer Reyman regarding the Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program. This is an effort to expand broadband availability to rural areas where high speed internet does not exist.
• A public hearing is set regard the Four Corners Health Department's project through funding that flows through the county.
• They will also be asked to appoint Dr. Jillian Fickenscher to the Four Corners Health Board of Directors.
• The public is encouraged to attend the meeting which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners' chambers located on the main floor of the York County Courthouse.
