YORK – The York County Commissioners have agreed to continue working with the firm of Regier, Carr & Monroe LLP in the capacity of assisting with the formulation of the budget and conducting the annual audit.
“We have had a great relationship with this company and our consultant for many years,” said Commissioner Randy Obermier. Jill Clay, the main consultant, began working with York County when she was with a firm in Aurora. She later moved to Kansas and began working with Regier, Carr & Monroe – and continued working with York County. While the budget committee – which consists of two county board members, the treasurer and the clerk – works to put the numbers together for the budget, they are assisted by Clay through the entire process. Then, later, the company conducts the county audit. Obermier reviewed the new contract and said it was pretty much exactly the same as it has been for years. And he also noted how many counties are having problems finding consultants to help them with their budget process, “so we are lucky we have formed such a relationship with them for this type of work.” The other commissioners agreed and they signed off the contract of services.
