YORK COUNTY – The York County Commissioners will be holding their next meeting on a different day and at a different time, due to the Christmas holiday. The commissioners meet every other Tuesday morning – their next meeting would have fallen on Christmas Eve Day.
“I put this on the agenda to see if we want to move our meeting as it will fall on Christmas Eve,” said Commissioner Randy Obermier, while noting if the federal government declares Christmas Eve a national holiday, the courthouse would be closed anyway. He also noted some commissioners had conflicts regarding their abilities to be present. “We could have our meeting the day before, on Dec. 23, or we could have it the day after Christmas, that’s all up to you,” Obermier said to his fellow county board members. “For payroll and paying claims, I’d prefer the 23rd,” said York County Clerk Mary Melby. “I’m also for Dec. 23, as we have to make sure payroll gets done on time,” said Commissioner Andy Bowman. “I think the afternoon of Dec. 23 is probably the best option,” said Commissioner Daniel Grotz, as they sorted out availability among the board members. It was determined the next meeting of the commissioners will be Monday, Dec. 23, at 5 p.m. Comments are closed.
