YORK – When the York County Commissioners paid bills this week, it was noted the payout was “sizable” due to some large purchases coming in before the fiscal year ends.
The fiscal year for the county ends at the end of this month. York County Commissioner Chairman Daniel Grotz noted the county, in this pay period, was paying for the new motorgrader and truck for the roads department, which had been budgeted. Commissioner Randy Obermier added how “we are down to the second to last pay period in our budget and we are right down there. I believe we will make it and get through this fiscal year. It’s tight, but it’s OK.” But it was also recognized how the commissioners are going to have to “open up the budget” at the next meeting because at least one fund (the county court) is far over budget for the fiscal year.
