County commissioners to address solar zoning regulations, with possible action included on agenda3/16/2026
YORK – The York County Commissioners will be addressing solar zoning regulations during their next meeting, on March 17, and the agenda includes the possibility of action being taken.
The commissioners are still considering the regulations recommended to them by the planning/zoning board, which include half-mile setbacks for commercial/industrial projects. Meanwhile, Commissioner Joe Burgess has proposed a new set of regulations with much shorter setbacks. During their last meeting, Commissioner Chairman Daniel Grotz told the board members he would want to see the matter returned to the planning/zoning board if the majority of the commissioners favored Burgess’ “vastly different” set of regulations.
