YORK – Valuation protests continue to be held before the county board, as is done each June. This will be the case when the commissioners meet in regular session on Tuesday, July 8. As the board of equalization, the commissioners will hear 18 valuation protests filed by property owners with some of the owners protesting values on numerous parcels. The board members will also consider the assessor’s over/under report which details changes York County Assessor Kurt Bulgrin is proposing due to clarifications and corrections.
During their regular meeting, the commissioners will meet with Aging Partners as the agency makes its annual update and budget request for the new fiscal year. They will also act on an engagement letter with Regier and Carr regarding the county’s contract with the company in the budget-formulation process. Another point of Tuesday’s agenda will be assigning a commissioner to the veteran service office’s petty cash checking account. They will also act on an emergency protective custody contract with Region 5 Systems. The public is always encouraged to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room located on the main floor of the York County Courthouse, next to the clerk’s office.
