YORK COUNTY – When the county commissioners convene as the board of equalization on Tuesday, July 22, when they will continue work on valuation protests and under/over reports in which valuations have been corrected. They will discuss and act on property valuation protests which have already been presented, with recommendations to be made by the assessor’s office after further inspections.
They will also hear new valuation protests. They will also consider this year’s report regarding damaged property – property which has been heavily damaged or destroyed to the extent it changes the valuation of the property. The board of equalization is scheduled to convene at 9:30 a.m. As the board of commissioners, they will open bids for the fire suppression project in the jail. They will also meet with Lisa Hurley, executive director of the York County Development Corporation, as she makes her annual report and budget request. The board will consider approving Mary Scott as a board member on the York County Visitors Bureau Board of Directors. They will also consider a revised agreement for emergency protective custody services between Region V Systems and York County. The commissioners will also take their quarterly tour of the county jail. The county board members are also expected to discuss solar project zoning regulations, although that item was not on the preliminary agenda. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room which is located on the main floor of the courthouse, next to the clerk’s office.
