YORK – When the York County Commissioners meet in regular session on Tuesday, March 31, they will revisit a number of topics – including commercial appraisals, emergency management and possibly zoning. While the issue of solar project zoning is on the agenda, it is likely no action will be taken as it is expected Commissioner Deb Robertson will not be in attendance. During their last meeting, the commissioners said they would wait until the next meeting, when all the chairs are full, to take action. However, there is still the possibility they might have some sort of discussion about this ongoing topic.
They will also talk about a contract with Vanguard Appraisals Inc. regarding reappraisal work to be done this year for the assessor’s office. This year, the reappraisals will be done on commercial properties in the southern portion of York (and the interchange) as well as the industrial/commercial properties on the north side of York. The board will also talk about the existing interlocal agreement for emergency management with Fillmore County. This is a temporary arrangement until the county hires its own emergency manager. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room located on the main floor of the courthouse next to the clerk’s office.
