County commissioners to set levies for political subdivisions

​YORK – When the York County Commissioners convene on Tuesday, Oct. 14, they will officially be setting the levies for all the political subdivisions in the county.

​All the subdivisions have already set their property tax levies during the budget process and the resolution by the commissioners, sitting as the board of equalization, is the final step to make them official.
Also on Tuesday:

• The commissioners will discuss and act on quotes for the purchase of a motorgrader for the roads department.
• The board members will designate a voter from among themselves to represent York County during the December 2025 election of the Nebraska Association of County Officials.
• The commissioners will consider an agreement with York General for physical capacity performance testing.
• A service agreement with the Southeast Nebraska Development District will be considered.
• They will consider a contract with Vanguard.
• A motor vehicle exemption application for York General will be considered.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room on the main floor of the courthouse next to the clerk’s office.
