YORK – The York County Commissioners have agreed to sign off on a 3-year service plan with Engineered Controls, a company focused on the HVAC operations within the courthouse. Brian Lewis, the courthouse maintenance director, told the county board members this includes a software package to better control the climate in different areas.
The system will also provide alerts if the system would go down in the middle of the night or over the course of the weekend. “And this will help us get the issues fixed in the warm and cold spots in the courthouse,” Lewis said further. “The courthouse system has never been and isn’t the best,” said Commissioner Randy Obermier. There have been heating and air conditioning issues since the courthouse was built. “It just hasn’t been, which we all know, as some people absolutely freeze in the summer, some freeze in the winter, some areas are warm. This will help us fix some of those issues.” This service plan will barely increase the cost already charged by the company with the work they do. “The system has never been the best in the world and I think this will be worth it,” Obermier added. Lewis said some of this cost was already budgeted for this fiscal year. All the commissioners voted in favor with moving forward with the service plan. Comments are closed.
