YORK – The York County Commissioners have signed off on a contract with Regier, Carr and Monroe, as the firm will be assisting with the budget formulation for the 2025-26 fiscal year. This company has assisted the county for many years with the budget, working closely with the budget committee.
The budget committee consists of two commissioners, the clerk and the treasurer. This year’s contract will cost between $6,000 and $10,000, depending on how much assistance will take place. Commissioner Daniel Grotz, who sits on the budget committee, noted how “Jill (Clay, from Regier, Carr and Monroe) has been working with the county for many years and she provides excellent assistance and guidance.” Commissioner Randy Obermier, who also sits on the committee, added, “She talks with all of us often,” including department heads. Regarding the budget, Grotz said the committee asked all the department heads and elected officials to get their individual budgets turn in by July 1. “We then met last week. Yesterday, we sent out emails to all of them, asking them to take another crack at it because their budgets came in fairly high. When they send those back, we will take a look at individual budgets and meet with all of them. Then, if a department head and/or official has a higher than usual budget, we will ask them to meet with us to publicly make their cases. It is definitely going to be an interesting budget season.” Comments are closed.
