YORK – The county commissioners have agreed to pay the City of Henderson for two years of ambulance service – last year and next year. As the county commissioners explained this past week, Henderson did not send in its usual $6,000 request for funds during last year’s budget process, so it was not part of the budget and not paid out.
This year, Henderson requested $12,000, to make up for last year and receive the funding for the next fiscal year. “Over the years, they have always requested the same amount,” said Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier. “Last year they didn’t request it and now they would like to know if we could do a multi-year allocation. I realize we shouldn’t have to remind them to submit this, but it was missed. This is something we always pay for out of the inheritance fund.” “I have no problem doing two years,” said Commissioner Andy Bowman. “Things like this can sometimes be missed in small town offices and this is a good service.” “I’m OK with it, but they have historically been consistent with pushing this off to the last minute during the budget process,” said Commissioner Daniel Grotz. The county board members agreed to the $12,000 expenditure. Comments are closed.
