YORK – The York County aging services has received a $50,000 donation from the estate of a person who wants the money to be used for a handicapped-accessible van. This week, the commissioners approved the opening of CDs for this money.
It was also stated how the donation was given to Aging Services, not public transportation, The original purpose was to purchase a vehicle, but aging services cannot use a vehicle. So they are seeking permission to use the money for the original intent of the donor which is to enhance mobility and ensure independence for individuals with accessibility needs. However, this week’s action was only for the commissioners to agree to the opening of the CDs, as the donation is accepted. Comments are closed.
