County veterans service officer says plan in place in case of rain, for Memorial Day in York

​YORK -- The annual Memorial Day Service at Greenwood Cemetery in York will be held at 10:30 a.m., as American Legion Post 19 will host the event. They also note how flags will be put up at 7 a.m., on May 24, and they will be taken down on May 26 – volunteers are needed to assist.
In the case of rain, York County Veterans Service Officer Nick Wollenburg says the flags will be put out on May 24 as planned. However, if it rains on Monday, the flags will remain out until Wednesday evening so they have a chance to dry.
Also, if it rains on Memorial Day, the Memorial Day service will be held at the National Guard Armory instead of Greenwood Cemetery.
