YORK – York County is going to see what a lot of counties – and individual property owners – are going to see in the next year . . . higher property insurance costs. That’s thanks to high claims a couple of years ago thanks to hailstorms and other natural disasters.
York County Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier said the county got its notification from NIRMA (the county’s property insurance carrier) “and we are looking at a 17% increase” in premium. This was one topic during reports made during this past week’s regular meeting of the York County Commissioners. Also during Tuesday’s meeting:
O’Neill said, “We have had a lot of increases in juvenile cases. The county court is very busy.”
