YORK – Criminal investigator Nolan Janzen has been named as York County Sheriff’s Deputy of the Year. The YSO said, “This past year, Investigator Janzen played a pivotal role in solving numerous high-profile and complex cases. One particularly notable case involved a nearly 10-year-old child sexual assault investigation. Despite the significant challenges posed by the age of the case and the traumatic nature of the victim’s account, Investigator Janzen approached the investigation with extraordinary diligence, compassion and persistence. His interview with the suspect resulted in a complete confession to every criminal element of the offense, leading to a multi-felony arrest. His interview and interrogation tactics were truly second to none – firm, professional and highly effective, yet always conducted with dignity and respect. His tireless efforts in this case brought long-awaited justice to the minor victim and demonstrated his commitment to upholding the highest standards of investigative work.”
Sheriff Paul Vrbka said, “This award honors an employee who best exemplifies our core values of honor, integrity, honesty, compassion, leadership and respect, and Investigator Janzen has consistently demonstrated all of these through his exceptional service over the past year.” The YSO said further: “Beyond individual cases, Investigator Janzen is known for his willingness to assist others, his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering support of fellow deputies. His work ethic and collaborative mindset have greatly strengthened our Criminal Investigations Unit. “In addition to his investigative responsibilities, Investigator Janzen continues to go above and beyond in supporting patrol operations. Despite being assigned to investigations, he finished the year fourth in the agency for traffic stops and third for calls responded to, highlighting his proactive approach to public safety and dedication to serving our community in every way possible. “Investigator Janzen’s professionalism, integrity and commitment reflect the very best of the York County Sheriff’s Office. He is a role model to his peers and a true asset to our agency and community.” Comments are closed.
