Non-incumbent deadline nearing for those wanting to run for a village office

​YORK – The deadline for non-incumbents to file their candidacies for local village boards is nearing.
Non-incumbents have a deadline of Aug. 3.
The following is a current list of candidates for village board seats in York County:

• Village of Benedict: Incumbent Bob Jensen, Aaron Reetz and Raul Grimm. Incumbent Miranda Martin did not file. Two seats are up for election.
• Village of Bradshaw: Incumbent LJ McCormick, Incumbent Terrence Werth and Kent Meyers. Two seats are up for election.
• Village of Gresham: Incumbent Kim Sheehan, Incumbent Conner Luettel, Ted Beck and Roger Hamilton. Two seats are for election.
• Village of Lushton: Incumbent Caleb Weisheit. Incumbent Kathy Hall did not file. Two seats are up for election.
• Village of McCool: Incumbent Tom Hoarty and Incumbent Sandra Browitt. Two seats are up for election.
• Village of Thayer: Incumbent Dustin Drake. Incumbent Daryl Foutz did not file. Two seats are up for election.
• Village of Waco: Incumbent Don Copeland and Incumbent Rick Pfeifer. Two seats are up for election.

If someone would like to file to fun for a village seat, who is a non-incumbent, they can do so with the county election office/clerk’s office.
