YORK – The county’s planning and zoning board will be meeting next Monday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m., in the county commissioners’ meeting room. Nathan Heinz, the county’s zoning administrator, told the commissioners about the meeting, so they and the public would know this would be happening.
“They will be discussing three different topics,” Heinz said. One topic will be starting the update of the county’s comprehensive plan. They will be working with Marvin Planning in this endeavor. The update of the comprehensive plan is a year-long process which is done every 10 years. The comprehensive plan is a roadmap for how the county should look, what zoning is allowed, the goals for the future, etc. Heinz said they will also be talking about zoning regulations for solar fields. “They will be reviewing the preliminary regulations you sent back to them,” he told the commissioners. After the planning and zoning board made recommendations about solar regulations, the commissioners reviewed those and made changes. Then the county board sent those proposals back to the planning and zoning board. Heinz said the third topic will be a conditional use permit application. Comments are closed.
