YORK – Candidate filings for the Primary Elections are trickling in as the incumbent deadline nears. According to information from the York County Clerk’s office, as of Jan. 23, only six candidates among all the official seats up for election this year, locally, have filed so far.
Clerk of the District Court Sharilyn Steube, McCool Junction School Board Member Alysia Clark, York School Board Members Alison North and Alex Hildebrand, York City Councilman Stephen Postier have filed to run for their seats. And Captain Josh Gillespie has filed to run for county sheriff. The Primary Election pertains to the county commissioner seats in Districts 1, 3 and 4; county assessor, county attorney, county clerk, clerk of the district court, public defender, surveyor, sheriff and treasurer; three Heartland School Board seats; three McCool Junction School Board seats; three York Public School Board seats; three seats on the Henderson City Council; and four seats on the York City Council. Incumbents have until Feb. 17 to file and non-incumbents have until March 2. Village of Waco Board of Trustee members Don Copeland and Rick Pfeifer have filed to run again. Village board candidates can file at any time, although their deadline does not arrive until mid-summer. Comments are closed.
