YORK – Sergeant Tanner Kritzek has been named the Employee of the Quarter, for the third quarter of the year, for 2025, for the York County Sheriff’s Office.
This is awarded to a sheriff’s office employee whose conduct over the evaluation period is deserving of recognition, Sheriff Paul Vrbka says. “The nomination for this award is primarily based on consistent high performance in job duties, exceeding performance expectations, outstanding customer service, remarkable leadership or significant contributions to a case or project.” Sgt. Krizek was nominated by multiple employees within the department who all commented on his exceptional leadership abilities. “Sergeant Krizek is the embodiment of the phrase, ‘service over self’ by frequently putting the needs of his subordinates over his own.” Many of the nominators commented how they feel “valued, supported and included by Sgt. Krizek as he is never to too busy to help them with their needs. He picks up overtime shifts to help cover time off for others and “steps into different roles to help our deputies with their training needs. Additionally, he maintains a high level of productivity and prioritizes traffic safety enforcement along the roadways of York County. He led our agency during the quarter with traffic stops for careless driving, child restraint violations and individuals driving more than 30 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. “During this quarter, Sergeant Krizek completed all four phases of training to become a certified traffic accident reconstructionist, which is a certification which will drastically help our agency complete complex crash investigations,” the YSO said further. “He also successfully obtained his certification as a pepperball instructor and recertification as a taser instructor. Outside of our agency, he routinely assistance the Nebraska Law Enforcement training Center as a guest instructor for traffic stops where he helps train new law enforcement officers from across the state. Our agency is blessed to have Sgt. Krizek on our staff and we appreciate his dedication to our agency.” Comments are closed.
