YORK COUNTY – From April 18-20, the York County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Drug Impaired Driving Enforcement mobilization through the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office. The focus of the campaign was high visibility traffic enforcement on the roadways throughout York County, specifically looking for drug-impaired drivers. Sgt. Taylor Samek says, “During this traffic mobilization, deputies stopped 32 motorists and issued 10 citations for traffic-related offenses. No DUI arrests were made during this campaign; however, deputies arrested seven impaired drivers during the month of April.
“As always, we would like to encourage motorists to report suspected distracted or impaired drivers to the sheriff’s office by calling 402-362-4927.” Comments are closed.
