YORK – The York County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign between Aug. 16 and Sept. 1. During this time frame, according to Sgt. Taylor Samek, “extra deputies were out looking for impaired drivers during the Labor Day travel period. “Deputies assigned to the enforcement initiative contacted 51 motorists resulting in three felony arrest, three DUI-drug arrests, one misdemeanor arrest and 13 speeding citations. There were also four drug influence evaluations conducted by a drug recognition expert.
“As always, if you are driving in York County and would like to report a reckless or impaired driver, call 402-362-4927,” Sgt. Samek added. This overtime enforcement campaign was conducted in conjunction with funding provided by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office. Comments are closed.
