YORK COUNTY – The York County Sheriff’s Office is currently participating in the Speeding Prevention Driving Enforcement campaign. This campaign will run from July 14 to July 31.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2023, there were 11,775 people killed in speed-related traffic crashes and speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all fatal crashes nationally. In Nebraska, in 2023, there were more than 569 people injured or killed in speed-related crashes, says Sgt. Taylor Samek. “Speeding continues to be a major factor in injury and fatal crashes. York County has not been immune to crashes caused by speeding and we will have extra deputies out looking for violations throughout York County. If you are driving in York County and would like to report a reckless or impaired driver, please call 402-362-4927. This overtime enforcement campaign is done in conjunction with funding provided by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.” Comments are closed.
