YORK – A number of tax list corrections were made by the county commissioners – sitting as the board of equalization – following decisions made by the Nebraska Tax Equalization Review Commission (TERC). York County Assessor Kurt Bulgrin brought forward the tax deductions for the Green Plains ethanol plant, as determined by a hearing conducted by TERC.
“All four of these changes are a result of a TERC decision, as the company took the county to TERC four years ago,” Bulgrin said. TERC hearings have been so backed up, Bulgrin said, it now goes back years. He also noted “there just aren’t consistent valuations across the state for ethanol plants. These are unique properties and assessors vary in how they been valuing them.” Comments are closed.
