YORK COUNTY – With planting season coming back around for another year, the York County Roads Department is reminding farmers they cannot plant in the county right-of-way.
Ashley Rasmussen said the roads department has had, for a few years now, issues with some farmers planting in the county right-of-way. “And we’ve even had farmers call us, asking us to move stop signs, road signs, so they can plant there,” Rasmussen said. “The road signs are where they are supposed to be and they aren’t going to be moved. If you are planting in the right-of-way, where the roads signs are, you are farming in the wrong place, farming where you shouldn’t be.” Comments are closed.
