YORK – Today is the last day for non-incumbents to file their candidacies if they want to run for offices being considered during the Primary Election in May. If individuals want to run for local offices – county, city or school board – they have until the end of the business day today (March 2).
The York County Clerk/Election Office will assist interested persons with filings their candidacies for local offices. Those seeking higher governmental offices must file with the Nebraska Secretary of State. Three commissioner seats, all the elected county official positions, numerous school board seats and several city council seats are all up for election in this year’s cycle. As of the end of the day on Feb. 27, these are the candidates seeking local offices:
