YORK-- People living in District 2 of York County are reminded they have until 5 p.m., today, Friday, Jan. 9, to send in their resumes if they are interested in serving as commissioner for that jurisdiction. The requirements include that an applicant must be a citizen of the United States, be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. They must reside in District 2 and be a registered voter with no felony convictions.
The salary is set per resolution with a full benefit package. After the application process is closed, they will be reviewed by a committee consisting of the county clerk, county treasurer and county attorney. Then, the three-person panel will hold public interviews on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 5 p.m., in the county commissioner meeting room. The clerk, treasurer and attorney will determine who will fulfill this term on the county board.
