Visitors Bureau work continues, with new member, billboard contract and website work

YORK – Alex Saathoff, director of the York County Visitors Bureau, met with the York County Commissioners this past week to ask for a new board appointment and make update as to the happenings of the office.

​She asked for Mary Scott to be appointed to the YCVB board.
“She will make an excellent member,” Saathoff said about Scott. “She also sits on the museum board and is familiar with local tourism. Chrystal Houston moved away and she would fulfill that position. Chrystal worked on the PR end and I think Mary will do well in that role.”
York County Commissioner Chairman Randy Obermier, who also sits on the YCVB board, noted how Scott reached out to volunteer for the position, “so that’s great. She has interest in that. It’s always good when we have people willing to serve.”
The commissioners agreed to appoint Scott to fulfill the remainder of Houston’s 1 ½-year term.
Saathoff also noted how the YCVB “website is getting an overhaul on the back end.” And they recently signed a billboard contract, which means “you will be seeing our new billboards soon.”
