YORK – Voter registration is encouraged for those who have not yet done so and want to participate in the November General Election. Currently, according to the Nebraska Secretary of State office, there are 9,274 registered voters in York County. Of those, 6,241 are Republican; 1,337 are Democrats; 106 are registered as Libertarians; 38 are registered with the Legal Marijuana NOW party; one person is registered with No Labels Nebraska; and 1,551 are registered as non-partisan.
To register in person, print out the form found at https://www.yorkcounty.ne.gov/elections.html and either drop it off in person or mail to the York County Clerk at the York County Courthouse. To register online, go to https://www.yorkcounty.ne.gov/elections.html and click on the appropriate link. Individuals may register in person through the State Department of Motor Vehicles when applying for or renewing their driver’s license. There are deadlines to register to vote as the election nears.
